Progress Sitefinity Partner Roundtable Recap, Barcelona: Platform Trends and What They Mean for Clients

Earlier this year, the Inneall team attended the Progress Sitefinity Partner Roundtable in Barcelona — a gathering of Sitefinity partners from across Europe, brought together to explore the platform’s roadmap and share implementation experiences. We came away with a strong sense of where the platform is heading and why that’s genuinely exciting for the organisations we work with.

The SaaS Shift Is Accelerating

One of the clearest themes was the continued acceleration of the shift to Sitefinity SaaS. Progress is investing significantly in the SaaS offering, and the benefits for clients are becoming increasingly compelling: infrastructure managed by Progress, automatic updates, improved security posture, and a predictable cost model. For many of our clients — particularly those in education and professional services who want to focus their IT resource on business capability rather than infrastructure management — the SaaS model is an increasingly natural choice.

AI-Powered Content Management Is Arriving

Perhaps the most energising part of the Barcelona discussion was the roadmap for AI-assisted content management within Sitefinity. Progress is building AI capability directly into the platform — AI-assisted content creation, personalisation capabilities, and SEO recommendations built into the editorial workflow. These aren’t experimental features — they’re on the near-term roadmap and some are already available in preview.

Headless and Composable Architecture

Sitefinity has been building out its headless capabilities, and Barcelona gave us a detailed look at where that’s heading. The composable architecture approach — using Sitefinity as the content hub while front-end experiences are built with the framework of your choice — is becoming increasingly mature and well-supported. It’s a model that works particularly well for organisations with in-house development capability who want editorial simplicity alongside technical flexibility.

What This Means for Our Clients

As a Sitefinity partner, our role is to translate platform capability into client outcomes. The direction Progress is taking with Sitefinity is one we’re genuinely enthusiastic about. If you’re an existing Sitefinity client and haven’t reviewed your setup recently, now is a good time. If you’re considering Sitefinity for a new project, we’d be happy to share our current perspective. Reach out and let’s talk.
