Moving from Quercus
to Innealla
Quercus has run the student record at many Irish institutions for years. If your contract, your costs or your processes have moved on, Innealla is a cloud student information system built in Ireland for colleges like yours: one student record from application to transcript, a fixed-price migration that imports your Quercus data, and a supplier you can actually talk to.
Platforms we run and connect for colleges

Your Quercus data, imported and reconciled,
in a student information system built for Irish colleges

Why colleges look at a move
Most conversations start with one of a handful of pressures. None of them is a criticism of the system you have; they are the questions any college asks when a long contract comes up for renewal.
- Cost: licence, hosting and change requests adding up to more than a smaller college can justify, with little visibility of what the next three years will cost
- Fit: Irish fee structures, QQI returns, instalment plans and sponsor billing handled through workarounds and spreadsheets beside the system
- Distance: a large supplier, a ticket queue and a release cycle that does not move at the pace of an academic year
- Integration: Moodle, CRM, timetabling and finance each holding their own copy of the student, with re-keying in between
- Reporting: management asking questions the system cannot answer without a developer or an export to Excel
- AI: wanting staff to ask questions of the live student record in plain English, without sending student data to a third party
How the move works
A Quercus migration is a known shape to us. The student, programme, module, enrolment, result and fee data all have a home in Innealla, and the discovery tells you exactly how clean yours is before you commit.
- Two-week discovery: we take a full export, grade every table from A to G and give you a fixed price for the migration and a go-live date
- AI-assisted migration: mapping and cleansing measured in days, with every transformation logged so your data office can audit it
- Parallel run: Innealla and Quercus side by side for an agreed period, with reconciliation reports on students, enrolments and fees
- Cutover timed to your academic calendar, usually between intakes, with a rollback plan agreed in writing
- Moodle, Salesforce or Zoho, finance and timetabling reconnected through the Integration Hub on day one
- Live in under two months for most colleges, on a hosted subscription banded by student numbers with your rate held for 24 months

An AI brain, on your terms
Innealla is built with AI running through it, not bolted on. Staff ask it questions and tell it to do things in plain English, and it works against the live student record within the permissions that person already has.
- Ask: “Which second-year students on the diploma are below 85% attendance and owe fees?” and get the list, with the figures traced to where they came from
- Tell: “Set up the September intakes from this spreadsheet” comes back as a preview to approve before anything changes
- Early alerts on students at risk, drawn from attendance, grades and fees together
- Runs on a model hosted by Inneall in Ireland, so your student data never leaves our platform and there is no per-token bill from a third party
- Optionally bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic keys for the tasks or hours you choose, so you control the cost model
- Every request and every action is logged against the person who made it
Is Innealla the right move for you?
It usually is when the student operation is a few hundred to several thousand students and the college wants a system shaped around Irish and UK processes rather than adapted to them. It is not the right move for everyone, and we will say so at discovery.
- Private and professional colleges approaching a Quercus renewal
- Institutions whose fee, instalment and sponsor processes live in spreadsheets beside the SIS
- Colleges already on Moodle or Salesforce that want the student record connected properly
- Groups with several schools or brands that want one platform with a separate instance for each
Every connector, through one Integration Hub
Innealla owns the student record and the Integration Hub connects it to everything else a college runs. We build connectors for a living, so if one is missing we add it.
- Moodle: our Moodle plugin provisions courses, cohorts and enrolments from the curriculum and keeps grades and announcements in step
- Salesforce: a managed app we built, so applications and cases flow into the student record without re-keying
- Zoho: the same, for colleges on Zoho CRM
- Finance: GL journal export to your accounts system, payment providers, sponsor billing
- CAO applications, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, email and SMS
- Timetabling is in the core; an existing Celcat export imports for cutover
How we do things
Partnership, transparency, user-centred design and long-term quality guide every project. Each one runs through the same six stages, so you always know where it stands and who is accountable.

We’ve integrated systems others refused to touch!
“Inneall’s impact on our ability to deliver reliable, scalable technology has been absolutely enormous. What sets them apart is their deep knowledge of our business, they understand our systems, our teams, and our priorities. That means we’re not dealing with a technology supplier; we’re working with a partner who genuinely cares about getting it right.”
